Drizzt Do'Urden

I like to write about books Ive read, however in this case its the character that's important to me. Faerun is not my favorite place to read about, however Drizzt is my favorite character in any book.
I have finished the second book in the Neverwinter trilogy. After the tearful ending of the first book, i was a little afraid for my hero. In fact, it took me a  longer to get past the first three chapters than is usual for me. I couldn't stop hating his new companion enough to get into the book. Shes awful really...However I learned to deal with her being there and to just enjoy Drizzt's new adventures. I'm still waiting hopefully for her to die though. And am i mistaken or did she put a new black diamond in her "I'm gonna kill you" ear?
Ive never felt so attached to a group of characters as i had been with the companions in all of Drizzt earlier books, I was very sad when the last one was taken out of the story. Hopefully i'll grow more attached to this new group in time. I'm sure it will be fine him accepting the grey areas between good and evil, however ...lets not get carried away Salvatore..Drizzt is fantasies perfect example of redemption..of our ability to make change happen..to be good and honest when all the world around us is crap. Once i did get into the book, i didn't put it down. And with the surprising return of an old frenimy I'm even more excited for the third book in this trilogy.
Thank you R.A. Salvatore for giving Drizzt to us fantasy nerds.
